Smith of 1805 Runyan. Smith, 83, died on August 21 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Smith was born on October 18, 1915, in Gilmer, Texas. He was the son of Jake Smith and Frances M. (Baxter) Smith. He married Pat Green in Gilmer, Texas on October 29, 1947. They came to Artesia in 1951 from Clovis, NM. Services were held at Calvary Baptist Church in Portales, NM. Smith, 91, died October 23 at her home. Interment was at Portales Cemetery. She was born April 7, 1908, in Leonard, Tex., the daughter of Ellen and James Monroe Frazier. She married Luther Smith in Bonham, Tex., on October 25, 1926. They moved to Lake Arthur in 1928. He preceded her in death in 1932. In 1946 she moved to Portales. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Portales. She moved back to Lake Arthur in 1994, and became a member of First Baptist Church there. Survivors include son Bill Smith, wife Wilma, of Portales; daughter Vera Foster, husband Charles, of Lake Arthur; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister; nine brothers; one grandson, Michael Foster, who died as an infant; and son Wesley F. She was preceded in death by brothers Earl Davidson of Santa Fe, NM, and Bill Davidson of Carlsbad, NM.
