Submitted By: Richard Wilkinson, Carlsbad, NM ************************************************************ EDDY COUNTY, NEW MEXICO BRADDOCK CEMETERY RECORDS Records extracted by Richard Wilkinson Typing by Richard Wilkinson March 2008 Submittal by Richard Wilkinson March 2008 I received an email in December 2007 (I think) about this forgotten grave. It was recently re-discovered by some surveyors out of Albuqueruqe doing some work near Hope, NM. After they found this grave, they did their own research and found living decendents, one of which contacted me. I contacted the surveyors and received further information to find this site again. I visited the area looking for the grave in February 2008. It was a dry windy day. This site is located 2.5 miles south of Hope, NM. From Highway 82 turn south on County Road 12 (also known as Armstrong Road). Go 2.5 miles south and the site is to the west just past a dry arroyo with some trees. It will be sitting a good 100 yards off the roadway. It is fensed and only has one clearly marked head stone. For more information on this find see the following web link: http://home.comcast.net/~p.a.miller/genealogy/docs/braddocknewmexico/index.htm and http://home.comcast.net/~p.a.miller/genealogy/narr/braddockstephen.htm The above web site link have loads of family information, including how Charlotte and her husband came to be in Eddy Co., NM during that time. GPS coordinates are: Map Datum WGS84 32deg 46.363 North 104deg 44.474 West The Head Stone is in good shape and reads as follows (note the spelling of her first name): CHARLOTTEE Wife of G.W. Braddock Born Nov. 19, 1816 Died Nov. 25, 1888
