Ortega of 207 Paris. Ortega, 54, died September 3, 1999 at his mother's home in Artesia. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, following the service. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace. Ortega was born in Artesia on September 15, 1944, the son of Enrique Ortega and Dominga Barragan Ortega. Survivors include his mother, Dominga Ortega of Artesia; sons Manuel Ortega Jr. of Beeville, Texas, and Anthony Ortega of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers Louis Ortega and Amos Ortega, both of Artesia; sisters Alice Ortega, Mary Ortega, Flora Ortega, Jane Cabezuela, Henrietta DeLaRosa, Frances Lara, and Margie Ramirez, all of Artesia. *************************************************************** The following excerpts were taken from Page 10 - The Artesia (NM) Daily Press - February 18, 2000 ORTEGA, PABLO Services will be February 19 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Pablo C. "Apache" Ortega. Ortega, 62, died February 16 in Artesia. Burial wil be at Woodbine Cemetery. He was born January 15, 1938, in Alpine, Texas, to Barnabe Ortega and Maria (Chavez) Ortega. He married Gloria Duran in Artesia, on November 9, 1965. He came to Artesia in 1946 from Alpine, Texas. Survivors include his wife of the home; sons Mario Ortega of Casa Grande, Ariz., Jimmy Ortega of Lovington, NM, Arthur Ortega, Jerry Ortega and Paul Ortega Jr., all of Artesia; daughters Mary Lee Ruiz of Minturn, Colo., Elva Viquez of Anaheim, Calif., Barbara McFatridge of Artesia and Rita Ortega of Ballenger, Texas; brothers Goyo Ortega of Fort Stockton, Texas, Barney Ortega of Dallas, TX, Henry Ortega of Las Vegas, Adolfo Ortega of Artesia, David Ortega of Roswell, NM, Israel Ortega of Brownwood, TX, and Kelly Ortega of Denver, Colo.; sisters Anita Franco of Carlsbad, Eva Ortega, Emma Roblez of Artesia and Minga Rodriguez of Lovington; 35 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrange- ments. He was born on May 23, 1976 in Carlsbad, to Mike G. Ortiz and Vera Varela Ortiz. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1994. He was active with Caveman baseball and basketball. He played drums in the Caveman Band and was an accomplished artist. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, for which he served as an altar boy for about six years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle, and a grandfather, Jose Ortiz. He is survived by a son, Ivan Rodriguez of Carlsbad; a daughter, Markiahna Rain Ortiz of Carlsbad; his parents of Carlsbad; two brothers, Michael Angelo Ortiz of Midland, Texas, and Dario Arthur Ortiz of Carlsbad; paternal grandparent, Margarita Gonzales Menjares of Carlsbad; and maternal grandparents, Jose and Socorro Varel of Dexter, NM. Osborn, 71, died on October 5 at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, Lea Co., NM. Osborn was born on May 3, 1928, in Oklahoma. He married Yvonne deWinter in February 1990 in Santa Fe, NM. He came to Artesia in 1972 from Odessa, Tex. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Osborn of Loco Hills; daughters Kathy Leach and Sherry Barnett, both of Odessa, Tex., and two grandchildren. She was born August 15, 1911 in Galena, KS, to LeRoy Van Noy and Lydia Melvina (Hodson) Noy. She was divorced. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Artesia. Survivors include sons Raydean Owens, wife Verna, of Artesia, Lynn Owens, wife Virginia, of Pecos, TX, Ronald Owens of Detroit and John Owens, wife Lynn, of Artesia; daughters Arlean Green of Artesia and Judith Carol Philips of Gibsonton, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Waynen F.
