RAMIREZ of 302 N. 4th Street. RAMIREZ, 73, died on September 14 in Albuquerque, NM. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. A rosary is scheduled for Thursday, September 16, at the church. Visitation will begin Thursday morning at Terpening and Sons Mortuary. He was born February 26, 1926, in Redford, TX, the son of Domingo Ramirez and Geronima (Moreno) Ramirez. He married Josephina Carrasco on November 22, 1947 in Artesia. She preceded him in death January 28, 1995. Survivors include sons Ruben and wife Olivia of Kermit, TX, Adolpho and wife Crystal of Batesville, AK, Ricardo and Luis, wife Elizabeth, all of Clovis, NM; daughters Josie Reyes, husband Daniel, and Mary Rodriguez, husband Larry, all of Artesia; brothers Joe of Artesia and Daniel of Roswell; sisters Paula Dominguez of Artesia, Manuela Verdoza, Gloria Ramirez, Nancy Barron and Delia Osarnio, all of Phoenix, AZ, and Belia Ramirez of Idaho. He was preceded in death by daughters Sally Onsurez and Alicia Morales; his parents; brothers Eulogio and Victor; and sisters Irene Delgado and Magdalena Hernandez. Reynolds, 85, died on January 12 at Tuttle. Interment will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia. She was born on January 7, 1915, in Little Rock, Miss., to Jodie Smith and Ava (Wansley) Smith. She married Charles Henry Reynolds on April 8, 1933, in Newton, Miss. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1988. They came to Artesia in 1937 from Mississippi, then moved to the Tuttle area in 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Artesia. She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Bisbee, husband Jerry, of Bridge Creek, Okla.; sisters Evelyn Jenkins and Roberta Williams both of Little Rock; sisters- in-law Hazel Smith of Little Rock and Rose Lowery, husband Alton, of Silver City; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. It will be held at Lakeview Christian Home Chapel. Rhoads, 87, died December 31, at her home. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born January 13, 1912, in Springfield, Ill., to Walter and Ada Rhoads. She later lived in Taylorville, Ill., where she graduated from high school. She attended St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas, where she attained her R.N. degree in 1933. She moved to Carlsbad in 1934 and became an officer in the US ARMY Medical Corps from 1943 to 1946. She served during WWII in New Orleans and in the Philippines. Survivors include five nieces; Mary Canavan of Las Cruces, NM, Lynda Howland of Windsor, Calif., Connie Corbin of Lampe, Mo., Carol Lauer of St. Louis, Mo., and Ann Stock of Blue Springs, Mo.; nephews, Carl Rhoads of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Bob Rhoads of Ventura, Calif., Mike Rhoads of Orchard Park, NY, and G.W. He is survived by his wife, Rufina Gonzales Rodriquez of the home; children Frances, Joe Jr., Kathy and Victoria, all of California; sisters Mrs. Juan Chavez and Mrs. Nick Ridriquez, both of Artesia; and several grand- children.
