The following excerpts were taken from page 10 - The Artesia (NM) Daily Press - December 8, 1999 YATES Services are pending at First United Methodist Church for Louise D. Yates of Albuquerque, NM. Yates, 84, died on December 5 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. She lived most of her adult life in Artesia, although she resided for the past seven months in Albuquerque. She is survived by sons Fred G. Yates, and George M. Yates, both of Roswell, and Harvey Yates Jr. of Albuquerque; and brother Roy Davidson of Raton, NM. She was preceded in death by brothers Earl Davidson of Santa Fe, NM, and Bill Davidson of Carlsbad, NM. A memorial service will be on December 9, in Albuquerque at the University of New Mexico Chapel to be followed by a reception. Her funeral will be in Artesia at a later date. ******************************************************************** The following excerpts were taken from Page 6A - The Carlsbad (NM) Current Argus - January 28, 2000 YEAROUT Funeral services will be held for Edith Day Yearout, 97, on January 29, at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will bollow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. She died January 26 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born November 17, 1902, in Indian Territory, Woodward, Okla., to Marion Madison and Polly Loretta Johnson Day. She grew up in the Lubbock, Texas area, graduating from Lockney, Texas High School and then West Texas University, at Canyon, Texas. She received her teacher's certificate in Colorado. She married Evan Jones Yearout. They moved to California for a year and then to Maryville, in east Tennessee, for two years, where their first child was born. They moved to Floyd County, Texas, and farmed. After selling the farm they moved to Carlsbad in 1943. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and her husband on November 1, 1965. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Schiller of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Lydia Jones of Clovis, NM; three grand- children, James Schiller Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., Carol Ann Schiller of Tucson, and Patricia Cohen of Missoula, Mont.; and three great-grandchildren, Lana Cohen, Tanya Cohen and James "J.R."
